Cape Town 2010

Enjoy Africa’s most cosmopolitan city - home to the 2010 World Cup. Cape Town sparkles with unique experiences that students will enjoy during their African adventure during the most dynamic time in the cities history. Joined by thought leaders from around the world, students will have access to ground breaking leadership models and service learning opportunities. The Global L.E.A.D. Program will create a new global standard for service and learning overseas and empower students to become more well-rounded international leaders of tomorrow.

Through a unique learn-do model, students will have the opportunity to earn upper level elective credit in Leadership and Service Learning both inside and outside the classroom to make learning come alive. To augment this knowledge, students will participate in Adventure and Diplomacy opportunities with our on the ground partners. In keeping with the purpose of the Global L.E.A.D. Program, the leadership and service learning courses offered will emphasize the culture and natural surroundings of Cape Town. An extreme effort is made in both courses to re-inforce the classroom instruction with the rich cultural surroundings by having students participate in field trips and out of classroom activities.

In keeping with the innovative and dynamic mission of Global L.E.A.D., we will also stretch the imagination of each student on an African Safari to see the "Big 5", serve alongside street children in the slums outside of Cape Town, and explore the magical vineyards, gardens, and historical monuments of the city that claims a rich history with iconic heroes such as Nobel Peace Prize winners Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu.

The Global L.E.A.D. Program offers luxury apartments with self catering kitchens and spacious living space right on the beach! Our accommodation is located within 10 minutes of Camps Bay, Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront, shopping, cafes, and the city center.
