Courtney Doran, Chief Operating Officer

 

Courtney graduated from the University of Georgia with a dual degree in marketing and public relations, and a certificate in leadership. During her time there, she created a college philanthropy for children with HIV/AIDS, which grew to later become the largest in the Southeastern part of the United States. After graduation, she worked in the Marshall Islands, teaching English to first, fourth and sixth grade students through a program called World Teach out of Harvard’s International Development Center. In 2009, Courtney led the inaugural launch of Global LEAD in Cape Town with smashing success, entertaining everyone from Hall of Fame Football Coaches to the Director of the Oxford Conclave on Global Ethics. It is her passion for service that has her leading the eye-opening and engaging service opportunities in each location around the world, as well as the Global LEAD Sustainable Service Initiatives.

 

Courtney currently serves as our Chief Operations Officer and International Program Coordinator, working to ensure that every program exemplifies the core values of Global LEAD.  She leverages her background in leadership studies and passion for experiential education to lead the curriculum development process and oversee on-the-ground execution. Courtney also drives Global LEAD’s international expansion initiatives, constantly searching for the next outstanding location to host college students and establish service partnerships.  With an infectious zest for life and giving back to those less fortunate, Courtney was recently honored as one of Atlanta’s Power 30 Under 30.

 

When she is not gallivanting around the globe, or making an impact in the lives of others, she is training for marathons, taking photographs, reading, taking Spanish class, scouring Pitchfork for the next great band, listening to NPR, writing, doing yoga, or hanging out in the local coffee shop.
