Alumni Experiences

 

St. Augustine famously said, “The world is a book and those who don’t travel read only a page.” Global LEAD believes that travel is an essential component of a fulfilling and challenging life.  In order to continue to grow as a person and a leader, you need to continually experience the adrenaline rush of flying into a new city and exploring different cultures.  Our alumni experiences are a great way to stay connected to your Global LEAD Family while engaging in lifelong learning.  Studying abroad is just the beginning.

 

In August 2011, Courtney Doran led sixteen Expansion Ambassadors on an action-packed, nine-day tour of Ecuador, the “authentic Costa Rica”.  With a focus on service and adventure, this group of Global LEAD Family mountain biked through Cotopaxi National Park, hiked around the freshwater filled caldera of a dormant volcano at Cotacachi Crater Lake and connected with Ecuadorian youth through afterschool programs.  From the charms of colonial Quito to the mysteries of the jungle, our Expansion Ambassadors explored this small but spectacular country. Ecuador will be offered as a four week abroad experience in summer 2012 and we are grateful to these Expansion Ambassadors who helped us ensure success for the inaugural launch!
